The questions people ask before installing a DPS meter, answered plainly.
No third-party DPS meter for Aion 2 has been approved by NCSOFT, and that includes JaMeter. Using any meter is your own decision and at your own risk. We describe exactly what JaMeter does below so you can decide.
We cannot promise anything about NCSOFT's enforcement. What we can tell you is how JaMeter works: it does not read or write game memory, does not inject code, does not modify any game file, and does not automate anything or send anything to the game server. It only reads a copy of the network traffic your PC already receives, through Npcap — the same driver Wireshark uses.
Ranking uploads (your fights on this website) are off until you turn them on. When on, each fight is sent anonymously: class, combat power, DPS, damage share, skills, boss, dungeon and server; your nickname stays hidden unless you choose to show it. A few features send small amounts of data even when uploads are off, and each can be switched off in the settings: Abyss damage sharing (during an Abyss boss, your character name, server, class and damage on that boss go to other JaMeter users fighting the same boss; deleted within an hour), stat sharing (an anonymous hash plus your gear damage-amplification value, so party members’ meters can compute nDPS), and an anonymous "meter is running" ping with performance numbers. The meter also checks GitHub for updates.
No. JaMeter is unsigned freeware made by one person, so Windows SmartScreen shows an "unknown publisher" warning and some antivirus programs flag the packet capture and the auto-updater by heuristics. If you are unsure, upload the file to VirusTotal before running it.
Yes. JaMeter reads the game's network traffic, so it does not matter which launcher started the game. It works on every global region (NA East, NA West, Europe, Asia, Latin America) and on the Korean servers.
Usually Npcap. Install Npcap once and tick "WinPcap API-compatible Mode" during setup, then restart JaMeter. If it still shows nothing, check that your antivirus is not blocking it and that you are running only one meter at a time.
Yes. Every feature is free, with no account, no paid tier and no ads inside the program.
Close it and delete JaMeter.exe. Settings live in %LOCALAPPDATA%\JaMeter and logs in Documents\JaMeter; delete those folders too if you want nothing left.
JaMeter is an unofficial fan-made tool, not affiliated with AION 2 or its publisher.
